Blackout Also Lifted for National League Championships

Delegate to Congress Donna Christensen was advised today that the Major League Baseball will also lift the blackout for the National League Championship games scheduled for October 15 through 24th. “I am happy that this issue has been resolved in favor of the viewers and that baseball fans in the Virgin Islands will be able to enjoy the games along with the entire nation,” Congresswoman Christensen said on Tuesday. The action is the result of a special exemption granted to Turner Broadcasting System for the 2009 baseball season. It should apply to all distributors. Today’s action follows last week’s decision by the MLB to lift the blackout of the Divisional Playoff games.
